What is the issue?

Duplicate content describes pages that have a high percentage of the same textual content. This greatly impacts SEO as it can be unclear which page is most relevant for a particular search query. If you have cases of high amounts of duplicate content, it can greatly harm your organic rankings. Note: Only indexable pages are shown in this report.

How to fix

You will find the document with the highest OPR (with strongest internal link equity) and by clicking on the arrow you will see its duplicates below it. In order to properly fix duplicate content issues, you first need to evaluate the source of the problem. If your system is generating duplicate pages with different indexable URLs, you can add canonicals pointing to the focus document and set those duplicates as "noindex". If you have pages with similar content yet deserve to rank in their own right, aim to make each document unique with valuable content fitting to its purpose. Use Google Analytics data to determine which duplicate page receives the highest amount of sessions, and prioritize your optimizations based on this. Google Analytics data will also help you find out whether any duplicates are being indexed incorrectly, so you can make sure only the focus page is receiving website traffic.
